Workout/Spin Track of The Week

WEEK #17

'Love Me' by Tiwa Savage

This is the 1st time I'm posting a song I haven't played in any of my classes yet.

My friend, Enimien, said it'd be a great spin track. Yes it has good beats but I'm not sure when/if I'll play it, maybe I'll have a Naija spin playlist sometime soon ;)

Happy Friday and Have a nice weekend!

'U Can't Touch This' by MC Hammer

Loving this in my spin classes at the moment... nothing like a 90s track :) Have a nice weekend!

Workout/Spin Track of The Week

WEEK #15

'Pass at Me' by Timbaland feat. Pitbull & David Guetta

It's so funny, I've had this track on my iPod for a while an only just got round to listening to it yesterday when I was trying to compile a playlist for my spin class last night!

I like it and I think the class liked it too :)

I searched for the video on youtube and it was full of half naked girl, of course so I've embedded one that's definitely safe for work (just the not-so-great  lyrics).

Workout/Spin Track of The Week

WEEK #14

'Where Have You Been' by Rihanna

I'll admit I'm not a Rihanna fan, I don't 'love' her voice but she does have some good songs! My brother in law hooked me up with Rihanna's album and there are a handful of catchy tracks including this one. I love it and of course I've played it in 2 spin classes already ;)

Enjoy your weekend :)

Workout/Spin Track of The Week

WEEK # 15

'Where Them Girls At' - David Guetta feat. Flo-Rida & Nicki Minaj

Yep, another David Guetta track ;) Honestly, his beats are perfectly designed for spin classes ;)

I have the extended version of this track and I'm loving it right now.

Workout/Spin Track of The Week

WEEK #14

'Little Bad Girl' by David Guetta feat. Taio Cruz and Ludacris

I heard this last week and I really like it... to be honest, it's a typical David Guetta track like 'Sweat' feat. Snoop Dogg. I keep saying I'm bored of new music but David Guetta's beats are usually very catchy

Maybe I'll listen to his new album:

This is a weekly series, previous posts can be seen HERE.

It's MJ, really I don't need to say anything else. Absolutely love this track!

His tracks never ever get old :)

Workout/Spin Track of The Week

WEEK #12

'Don't Be Cruel' - Bobby Brown
An Oldie... but a real Goodie ;-) Oooh I miss the 80s and the dance moves ;)

When Bobby Brown was still an attractive human being... :p

Workout/Spin Track of The Week

WEEK #11

Bob Sinclair featuring Sean Paul -'Tik Tok' (Club Mix)

I'd actually heard this song a few times in the gym but never paid attention to it until the receptionist told me he liked it. I listened to it a couple of times and bought it last week :)

Again, like most of the songs in this series, I'm practically dancing when it's playing :)

My favourite bits of this version (club mix) are the first 30 seconds and the last minute.

Workout/Spin Track of The Week

WEEK #10

Tinie Tempah - 'Pass Out'

This was one of the 1st tracks I bought when I initially started teaching spin classes about a year ago. It never gets old... I might take a few months off playing it but when I do - it *always* works!

It's a very catchy song :)

Workout/Spin Track of The Week

WEEK #9

Big thanks to LondonDiva for this song... she kindly sent me a few tracks earlier this year when I needed to add new stuff to my increasing list of spin tracks. This was one of them... an MJ track :)

I LOVE it! And I think I overplayed it for about a month, now I play it in moderation ;)

Workout/Spin Track of The Week

Week #8

Beyonce - 'Run The World (Girls) Redtop Club Remix'

I'm sorry but I was never a fan of the original song when it came out, sue me. I love Beyonce's music but she's not perfect....

As always, I was on the lookout for something that would work for a spin class so when a friend gave me Beyonce's '4' (Deluxe Edition) album and it had 2 remixes of the song, I really hoped I'd like at least one of them... I did!

This isn't a great track BUT I've played it in 2 spin classes this week and the beats sound AMAZING when the volume is turned right up.

Workout/Spin Track of The Week

Week #7

'Beautiful People' by Chris Brown

I liked this track the first time I heard it and used it in a few spin classes then I my friend Keris played this remix in one of her classes and I love it!

Workout/Spin Track of The Week

WEEK #6
I've taught 10 spin classes in the last couple of weeks and I think I've played this track in EVERY class... it's time to give it a rest ;)

Try to listen (look) past Snoop's rubbish dance moves and the half naked women in the video, this track is GREAT for Spin classes and working out.

I have the funniest story (re: Spin):
My friend Tracey tried out spin (not my class) for the 1st time yesterday and this was the 1st thing she sent to me today:
"You are definitely a spirit, I'm certain of it. Even my blood worked out, as in - my blood hurts! Spin class is a battlefield", it gets even better... she sent a message to our friend Liz (who I've known for over 15 years), saying: "How the hell does she do more than one of these classes a day. I'm going to need pictoral evidence to prove that you've actually known her the amount of time you say you have... cos NO human being can or should do that thing more than twice in an entire week... Jesu!" <--- yep, she's a little dramatic isn't she? ;)

Workout/Spin Track of The Week

Week #5

Dynamite (Mixin Marc Remix) - Taio Cruz

I love ending  my classes (not every week ofcourse!) with this track, it kinda gives me that second wind I need right when I feel I'm going to topple off the bike in exhaustion - it always works! I am one of those people who dance while working out, I remember being told I danced while running (didn't even realise it!) but I know for a fact I dance during my spin classes and this song = perfect dancing track ;)

Workout/Spin Track of The Week

Week #4

'Push It' by Salt-N-Pepa

This song is a classic! I could play it every week (but I don't of course) and it will never get old :)

I catch myself dancing EVERYTIME this track is played, even when I'm teaching ;)

Workout/Spin Track of The Week

WEEK #3

Bootylicious by Destiny's Child

Wow... I remember this video being played (on music channels & stations) multiple times a day during the summer of 2001 (10 years ago) and I still LOVE this!

I tried this during one of my very first spin classes and EVERYONE loved it!

I haven't played it in a few weeks, perfect excuse to play it next week ;)

Workout/Spin Track of The Week

WEEK #2

'Hometown Glory (High Contrast remix) by Adele.

Listen and you'll understand why I love it :)

My friend, Keris of Fitter London played this in a spin class last year and I loved it immediately! It's a remix of Adele's 'Hometown Glory; and she heard it on 'Misfits' - a popular show here in the UK.

I *just* Love it!

New Series: Workout/Spin Track of The Week

FYI: I'm also a spin instructor and teach 3 classes a week, the main reason I enjoy teaching Spin is THE MUSIC!

So I've decided to start a new series: Workout/Spin Track of the Week

WEEK #1

I have always loved 'Galvanize' by The Chemical Brothers and re-discovered it last week!

I played it on Thursday, Friday and Tuesday, haha!  Everyone loved it as a sprint track and it will be making an appearance in my classes often :)
  • It was the 1st single from "Push The Button", their 2005 album.
  • It won the Grammy Award for Best Dance Recording in February 2006.
If there's any track you absolutely LOVE and find very inspiring and motivating while working out, please share... :)
